Editorial standards
How Solopreneur.co researches, sources, updates and corrects its guides, and how money is kept out of recommendations.
Sourcing
- Fees, tax rules and legal requirements come from official sources (IRS, SBA, state Secretary of State sites, GOV.UK, CRA). We link the exact page and note the date checked.
- Pay data comes from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics where possible.
- Startup costs and time-to-first-sale figures on idea pages are our own estimates, and we label them that way.
- We don't invent statistics, testimonials, reviews or experts.
When we can't verify something
We mark it "not verified" and link the official source instead of guessing. Our LLC cost pages do this state by state.
Tool recommendations
We say whether we've tested a tool hands-on. If we haven't, we describe it from the vendor's documentation and say so. Commissions never change the order of a list.
Updates and corrections
Every page shows when it was last updated. Found an error? Email [email protected] and we'll fix it and note the correction.
Not professional advice
Our guides are general information, not legal, tax or financial advice.
